Jurassic World

**SPOILER ALERT**

Colin Trevorrow fantasic 10/10

Finally got to see Jurassic World last night...well what can I say? I was sceptic about it first and was worried how Colin Trevorrow would get on with it compared to the classic Jurassic Park by the legendary directer Steven Spielberg, especially introducing a Dino Hybrid. I thought I would be brave and pay the extra to sit in gold class as I find it annoying when people have a conversation when you are trying to watch a film. All in all I thought Colin did a fantastic job bringing the much loved Dinosaurs to life again. From start to finish I was gripped. I loved how the they still had bits from the original film. A park tech operator  named Lowery was wearing a vintage Jurassic Park T-shirt that he said in the film he won in an auction . There is also one scene where the two young boys Zach and Gray stumble upon the old visitor centre while on the run from the Indominus
Lowery
Original Visitor Centre
Rex which is after 20 years covered in plant life, as they are walking around they find 2 old Jeeps from the original film, fix one up and drive off towards the park.Chris Prat played a good part in it as a Velociraptor  expert and trainer but I think they needed to research or even talk to an actual trainer regarding the clicker, when he was training the Velociraptors he was over using the clicker, in my experience you just click once or twice when the animal has done something good and you reward them, not constantly click like his finger was stuck on the button. I know it is nit picking over something small but even the smallest thing matters. Now here is where the big spoiler is so if you do not want to read please stop now......The best bit for me was the epic final scene, When Owen, Claire, Zach and Gray thought time was up being corned by the raptors, the Raptors turn on the I.Rex which kills 2 raptors and the again aims for Owen, Claire and the boys, realising they are now outmatched, Claire runs and lures the old favourite the Tyrannosaurus rex into the fight, the T-rex is now being over powered untill the remaining raptor Blue makes an appearence and attacks the I.rex, fighting along side the T-rex both pushing the I.Rex towards the lagoon ending with the  Mosasaurus leaping out and pulling the I.rex into the lagoon.I thought it was great after the T-rex appeared in the original killing the raptors looking like it saved the
Visitors and it was amazing making them look like a tag team to take this monster hybrid down. I really enjoyed the film and will recommend to all to watch it from past to present. I am disappointed to hear they are thinking of sequels as really they should of left it at that.To be honest they should not of bothered with " The Lost World" or " Jurassic Park 3" and had Jurassic World as the sequel 20 years after the first. Oh well it will be interesting to see as it will be yet another director. So lets watch this space.

30th Birthday and sad loss

Well today is my 30th Birthday, the day I was suppose to look forward to, but after I lost my father in law on the 19th to prostate cancer it has been very hard. Paul took me up to one our favourite walks at midnight of the 25th in his dad's ranger and surprised me with a Big Hero 6 birthday cake so it made it feel his dad was with us which was really nice. We are spending the day seeing the vicar regarding funeral arrangements but I know the rest of our family will try to make it special tonight when we go out for a meal even though one chair will be empty.....

The Boy in a Dress and Dyslexia

The Boy in the Dress

Battling with Dyslexia

R.L Stines teenage horror series

I know this is not a film review or anything to do with Jewellery but it is something I want to get back into that I used to do as a child.

When I was young I was always reading fictional books an hour or so before lights out and bed. The books I used to love were Goosebumps, Narnia and The Famous five and I really enjoyed them.  As I got older I was really struggling with reading, I would struggle to hold all the information causing confusion and causing me to lose interest really quickly. I thought maybe it was down to me becoming a teenager and I wasn't actually a book person. I really struggled in Secondary school too, when it came down to doing work I found it hard to understand even when the teacher used to break it down for me I could not get it. Someone would tell me a conversation and I would either not understand something simple or I would forget within minutes what some of the conversation was about the person had with me. I spent my school years feeling embarrassed and hopeless. It was only when I was at college doing my Art and Design my lecturer noticed something was not right when I was trying to do writing on my work and that it did not make sense and I would struggle with wording. He sat me down and recommended that through the college that I should get tested for Dyslexia...I agreed...The test was simple just answering questions and writing things down..it came back that I had dyslexia and with the help of the lecturer and the college they gave me the help I needed to get me through college. I was so relieved, all these years being picked on and being made like I was a no gooder at school by students and teachers I battled through I finally found the help I needed. I still sometimes struggle today but I have people around me that understand and help me through it. Sometimes Paul will say something to me with a word I do not understand and I ask him to explain what it means without feeling the need to be embarrassed and he explains it to me. He laughs if I am on the phone to my mom and he say's "oh cool what did she say is she ok?" and I would reply " I can not remember what she said now and I just laugh with him. Getting to the actual blog about the boy in the dress, I was in Waterstones the other day and I said to my dad That I missed reading books and would like to do it again but I feel that I cant and if I try to read, if I put it down when it comes to picking it up again I have to go back a re-read a few pages to remember what happened. My dad bless him said you are just not reading the right books that I am reading books with too much information that overloads my brain. So he recommended me to try teenage books again so I have,  but not quite teenage lol even though I am nearly 30 I got a book from the 9-12 section which got my interest. I picked up " The Boy in the Dress" by David Walliams, when I saw it the illustration style reminded me of the great Roald Dahl, the written layout was nice and spaced and there is not alot of information to overload me, so I will see how I get on with it.

The moto of this is do not let others bully you  because you are different, there is nothing wrong with that it makes you who you are, Strong, special and unique.
I am proud of who I became and I now feel there is nothing to be ashamed of that there are aways a way around the obstacles put in place.

Ollie Ommer fun day

A few key rings and Bookmarks I made

My Stall

I have been a busy bee today, spending some time making Jewellery and accessories  ready for the Cradley Heathens Ollie the Ommer fun day this Saturday ( 13th June ). I have not made any for a while so I was rather excited about doing this, especially as I brought a new bag load of beads from the Warwickshire beadshop. I made a few keyrings and a couple of bookmarks. I really enjoyed making The Mermaid bookmark it was really fun to do as I have some shells that would go really well with the design and  I added faceted crystal rondelle beads for the water effect.  I still have a bit more to do as I would like to make more bracelets I only have a few. I will be spending a lot of my free time this week trying to get everything ready in time, so unfortunately I will not be able to watch many films till next week. I will be adding some items on my Etsy shop so please stay tuned.

Jurassic World release

Not long now

                                                    10 days to go

Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia!

Got to love musicals

Yes this is us ladies and gents lol
I know this is an older film but I thought I would give it a mention as I am heading to London in October to see it in theatre. I do love my musicals I have only seen a few so far due to commitments one after the other over the last 5 years, from saving for the house and now the wedding, but once the wedding is over I can finally see a few more off my list. The ones I have seen have been fantastic, I have been to Birmingham to see " The Rocky Horror Picture Show " that was fun as we all got to dress up,  I got to say hat's off to the gents that were brave enough to dress up not only as Frank n Furter but to dress up as Rocky in the middle of winter too...Wow!! lol. I dressed up as Magenta and my mother who came with me dress up as Columbia, The best bit to that show was the audience participation,  as they got everyone up doing the time warp!!! Awesome...The next show I saw which was only 2 years ago was " The Lion King" I had been wanting to see that for a while I left hints for Paul each day that I wanted to see it and he finally got me a ticket to see it for my Birthday, I loved every minute of that  even Paul did and he can not stand musicals, the actors were brilliant and the audience joined in singing along to the well loved tunes from the film. Last but not least only last October I went to London to see Wicked, It was not my favourite, proabably ruined it for myself as I had left my glasses back at the hotel that night, so found it hard to see in the distance, but again the story line was good as it was linked with  the Wizard of Oz and the songs were very catchy leaving you singing them when you left the theatre. So leads me back to Mamma Mia! I am very excited about seeing it and love the film even though it was a big cheese with awful singing from Pierce Brosnan ( Sorry Pierce )  I had to get the album ready to hear in the car so I could sing along and prepare myself ready...Roll on October...
